Valencia is mainly known for its sweet Muscat wines and for its bulk wines, red or white, without particular ambition as far as terroir and grape expression are concerned.
However, this region has a great potential: magnificent terroirs and a perfect climate. A lot of new projects are budding, which aim at giving back to wine its real status.
The region is divided in 4 parts: the two largest are Valentino and Moscatel; then come Clariano, more to the south and the back country, which is the most promising area. The fourth subzone is Alto Turia.
