If you enjoy fresh Atlantic white wines, look elsewhere. This is a robust Mediterranean white. BUT: everything is excellently balanced. Plenty of substance, lots of flavor, and above all, great length.

Simply top-notch! But as usual: very limited!

Terroir al Limit: 2022 tasted on site last weekend! WAW what a finesse!

Last weekend we visited Priorat with our team at Dominik Huber's place in the lovely little wine village of Torroja and tasted the 2022s one by one.

The team and myself in particular were thoroughly impressed. Dominik stood and stands for the most elegant and refined style of Priorat wines, fully biodynamic and also consistently has the highest scores in the entire region!

But this time the visit was extra special because he has been working completely ‘oak-free’ since 2021. He no longer vinifies and ages his wines in barrels or foudres, but rather entirely on cement. So there is no more wood involved! A serious step in vinification and a bit of a gulp for us when he told us about it last year. But since this weekend we can be more than reassured. Before, his wines were already the perfect expression of Priorat's mineral terroir, but now, without wood aging, it has all become even more refined and mineral.

New wine from José Pariente: new appellation, new grape varieties, affordable and delicious!

Small productions, delicious wines, and more than affordable! All characteristics they already had with their José Pariente in Rueda. So the deal was quickly made.

And look: two years later, their first A Vilerma is on the market!

A beautiful Ribeiro with the original grape varieties (all from old vines) of the region: Treixadura, Lado, Loureira, complemented by the more familiar Albariño, Godello, and Torrontés. A colorful blend of typical Atlantic grape varieties.

Perfect to pair with shellfish and classic fish dishes.

The 2022 Grand Crus from Descendientes de J. Palacios in Bierzo have arrived.

Ricardo Palacios is the nephew of Alvaro Palacios. Together with his uncle, he produces some of the finest wines from Bierzo. This estate is undoubtedly among the top in Spain. They were the pioneers of biodynamic farming in this country.

We are very pleased with the 2022 wines! As always, available in limited quantities.

None other than Rafael Palacios was responsible for the best-selling wine at our autumn tasting last weekend. And he wasn’t even present! His wines were featured at our "Galicia" table.

Quite the impressive feat! But we’re not surprised, that his Louro 2023 from Valdeorras was the winner!

Nothing surprising, indeed, as this cuvée has been one of the cornerstones of our selection for years. Our best-seller in white.

Mas Vilella Blanc 2021 super promo 5+1: The top white wine for this autumn (93/100)!

We like to refer to the Mediterranean Riesling when talking about Malvasía de Sitges, especially because this variety has such beautiful mineral acidity.

However, in this case, we are discussing the absolute top of Malvasía de Sitges, which has also undergone aging in large wooden casks. So, it’s a fuller-bodied variant in the style of riper Smaragd Rieslings or Grüner Veltliners from Austria.

Moreover, this Mas Vilella Blanc 2021 is now perfectly ready to drink for the upcoming season! It’s a robust yet mineral white wine that pairs wonderfully with your classic fish dishes this autumn. Additionally, it has an aging potential of easily 5 years.
