This is the new generation of young winemakers in Rioja.
Their common goal: working with terroir, exclusively with vieilles vignes en gobelet (or bushvines), and always biodynamically.
In 2015, eight young winemakers and friends united under this banner. We first got to know them through
Oscar Alegre, who was then working for
Descendientes de J.Palacios in Bierzo but was already active as a young oenologist in his home region of Rioja.
It was Oscar who introduced us to the brothers Arturo and Kike (together "Artuke") in 2015. We tasted their wines several times, and in 2018 they decided to work with us. Since then, Artuke's wines have been part of our selection as "the other Rioja."
They work, like many young Spanish winemakers, with a Burgundy-inspired approach, naming their wines after vineyards and lieux-dits. "In grape we trust" is their motto.
We now have the new 2022 Artuke wines in stock, and in this region too, 2022 was a warm and bold year with excellent ratings.
And we have even more good news! Across Europe, the economic situation is less favorable, but... that means good news for us!
We have received a larger allocation of the 2022 vintage, as other countries have reduced or even canceled their allocations. As a result, after fulfilling reservations, we still have a few cases of their top wines available for sale via this mailing.
Still 32 bottles of Condenada and 24 bottles of Escolladero available!

I admit, the grand crus have significantly increased in price, but the Premier Crus: our Finca de los Locos and Paso las Mañas (the latter from one of the highest vineyards in Rioja!) offer an incredible price/quality ratio!
