Varieties Javi Revert Viticultor
Javi only uses local Mediterranean varietals whose origin is often lost but who were abundant in the region before phylloxera. Javi is always looking for new ones and often finds small parcels thanks to old winegrowers or friends. These vines have often been invaded by the surrounding vegetation. As regards the whites, he uses the Merseguera, now better known, but also Verdil and Malvasia. In our portfolio, we have also added his Tortosi and his Trepadell. As regards the reds, he mainly uses the local Monastrell and Alicante Bouschet (Garnacha tintorera). But his top red cuvée, the Simeta, is made with Arcos, a Valencian grape not often found elsewhere, with a long maturation cycle, a thick skin and large berries. According to ampelographic studies, Arcos is part of the Moristel family, from Aragon.
