Tempranillo (60%), Viura (30%), Garnacha (10%)
75 cl.
2022
Something very special ! This wine comes from a small vineyard in Sajazarra, of which 2/3 is over 100 years old and 1/3 is Tempranillo of 40 years old. The final field blend ensures we get a light very floral wine with lots of character.
Garnacha, Viura
2023
Typical Clarete : blend of red grapes (Garnacha tinta) and white grapes (Viura). Traditionally very classic for this region, but hardly made by anyone anymore.
Tempranillo (80%), Garnacha (20%)
2021
Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Graciano, Syrah, Tempranillo
This "Friends' wine" is the flagship of this family bodega, located in Corral de Almaguer. It coiuld be sold under the La Mancha denomination, but owner Juan de la Barreda prefers to use the Tierra de Castilla label. The wine is a blend of old Tempranillo grapes (here they call it Cencibel), from three different terroirs: La Desehilla, Monte Alto and El Convento, with some shiraz and cabernet from younger vines.
Cariñena, Cinsault, Garnacha, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Tinta Barocca
In South Africa like in Spain, Terroir is a relatively new concept. The oenologist of the Spanish estates we work with played a pioneering role in understanding its value. The same for Eben Sadie and its family in South Africa. Columella is the flagship of this small company. Its production is very limited, but the quality is very high.
Aragonés, Garnacha, Petit Verdot
2019
The most outstanding of Cote's creations. This Cote Luna is a blend od three varietals which are rarely found side to side in the region or even any region of Spain: Aragonés, Petit Verdot and Grenache. What's more, they are 115 and 70 year-old, prephylloxeric vines. And what a result! This wine is better then a great many Riberas...
Garnacha (100%)
The perfect everyday wine. An explosion of pure fruit - the fruit of old Grenache vines from Calatayud.
Tinta de Toro (85%), Garnacha (15%)
This red wine was born after owner Oriol traveled to Germany to attend a concert. Upon his return, he wanted to create the ideal red wine to enjoy at a concert, picnic or with friends. Thus was born El Oso y la Alemana, an intense, flavorful red Toro with lots of character.
Garnacha (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%)
2020
This wine is a blend of a very old Grenache vine and some cabernet sauvignon coming from a higher altitude bloc on the sides of Mount Moncay. Hand picked.
Garnacha, Tempranillo, Viognier
150 cl. (Magnum)
2021 was the first vintage of this wine made by one of Rueda's top estates. This Victoria cuvée is Ignacio's and Martina's tribute to their mother Victoria Pariente, who founded this bodega. This wine is made with organic grapes of two red varietals (tempranillo and grenache) and one white varietal, viognier, which is more surprising for a rosé.
This entry level wine of the Comando G is a reference to an old Spanish TV character, la Bruja Averia (the injured witch). Inside the bottles is a very refined Grenache wine, as usual with the Comando G.
Tempranillo (80%), Graciano (12%), Garnacha (5%), Palomino (3%)
Located in the small village of Baños de Ebro, 520 m above sea level, on sandy soils, La Condenada is one of the most spectacular vine in the whole Rioja region. This vine dating from the 1920's is mainly planted with Tempranillo, but it has other - local -companions. It owes its name ("condemned") to the fact that it was nearly abandoned before the Artuke brothers saved it. Two years of effort were needed to get it back into shape, and the first crop came in the 3rd. And what a crop! No doubt this is Rioja at its best.
Tempranillo (55%), Garnacha (45%)
This is Ignacio's and Martina's entry level wine, made with grapes from several villages of the Valladolid Province (hence the name): Mucientes, Valbuena de Duero and Pedrosa del Rey. Old vines from the 1940's.
A new single vineyard cuvée by Ester and Carles. A small parcel of 80 year-old grenache pelut (a hairy-leave variant of Grenache which makes very elegant wines), quite close to the Mas d'en Caçador. The soils are black slate, the altitude is 700 metres above sea level. Biodynamic farming.
Tempranillo (85%), Garnacha (10%), Palomino, Viura
This "village wine" (the village in question being Labastida, in Rioja Alavesa) is a blend of four different parcels lying at some 500 metres above sea level.
What a lovely project! In collaboration with the cooperative of the small village of Calsado de los Vidrios, the "Grenache warriors" of Comando G have revived old Grenache vines and make wine in the old tradition of the area - the clarete (between red and rosé). This is an easy-to-drink wine, which can be drunk chilled.
Daniel Landi is one of the most talked-about young winemakers in Spain. He has set Sierra de Gredos back on the wine map of Spain. This Uvas de la Ira blend (Spanish for Grapes of Wrath, like the John Steinbeck novel) is his entry level wine. But what an entry level wine! It is made with old grenaches from different part of the Sierra, mainly on slate (pizarra).
Garnacha
20 cl.
Bobal (72%), Garnacha (17%), Syrah (11%)
Mestizaje means assemblage or blending. An outstanding wine, all the more so as it is the entry level wine of the estate!
Mirone means ladybird, which refers to Prince Mir Gilabert, who lived in the 11th century and studied insects, signing his letters with a ladybird.
Garnacha (80%), Tempranillo (20%)
A fantastic price-quality relation! This is a very fruity, pleasant wine, everyone's friend. Mirone means ladybird (Prince Mir Gilabert, who lived in the 11th century and studied insects, signed with a ladybird).

300 cl. (Doble Magnum)
2017
This is the only wine at Roda that is a blend of several varieties (Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache). It includes grapes that are not used for the Roda I. It has gained an excellent reputation.

600 cl. (Imperial)
A blend wine with an excellent reputation- the only one in the range that is a blend of several varietals.
The Grenache "Commandos" often find some inspiration in Burgundy, as is shown with this wine. Beside their single vineyard selections - what one could call Grands Crus, they have made a "Premier Cru", Rozas de Puerrto Real, from a 900-meter-high vine.
Tempranillo (78%), Garnacha (20%), Viura (2%)
This "village wine" (the village in question being San Vincente de la Sonsierra, in Rioja Alta) is a blend of four different parcels lying at some 500 metres above sea level.
Tempranillo (89%), Garnacha (7%), Graciano (4%)
Sela, the latest wine at Roda's, is made from 15 to 30 year-old vines. Its name comes from a Scandinavian river where owner Mario Rotllan goes regularly so as to revitalise himself and fish in a magnificent landscape.
Tempranillo (95%), Garnacha (3%), Graciano (2%)
Arcos, Bonicaire, Garnacha, Monastrell
Javi's "vin de village", this cuvée blends the main grapes of the place: Alicante Bouschet and Monastell. The first comes from a 0,8 hectare vine planted in 1966 at 700 m above sea level; the second, the Monastrell, comes from a small plot on sandy and stony soils at 620 m, planted in 1985. Production: 1,789 bottles, Surprisingly fresh for a bi-varietal from this region.
Ulterior is a project that saw the light in 2007. Planting was done in el Romeral, in the center of La Mancha (Tomelloso). At the base was Elias López-Montero, according to Decanter one of Spain's most promising oenologists. With great respect for his terroir and his history, Elias manages to make beautiful wines that underscore the authenticity of his region.
Garnacha (51%), Cariñena (42%), Merlot (7%)
Urbezo, a regional artist and a good friend of Santiago Garcia's, was both a mentor and a source inspiration for him. The estate and most of the wines are named after the painter.

This Páramos de Nicasia is Oriol & Susana's "village wine" in Toro. It comes from an old ungrafted vine in Villaester, North West of the Douro, on sandy soils. Besides the typical Tinta de Toro, one can find there quite a lot of Grenache and Malvasia. If you add to all of this Oriol's very traditional approach to winemaking, you get a really singular Toro.
