Albert Jané's dream was to produce a white wine which would equal it best red cuvée, on the same terroir: his Auditori vineyard.
The dream has now come true. Made with old vine Grenache blanc, with a little Pansal and Macabeu (old vines too), it epitomises the greatness of its Montsant terroir. A powerful and very Mediterranean white, in the style of the best white Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Vinification
The three old-vine varietals are vinified separately. After a mere 2 days of maceration, fermentation and ageing take place in three types of containers: concrete eggs, foudres and 400-litre French oak barrels.
The wine stays for 10 months on its lees.
Storage potential
Can already be drunk today.
Will keep till 2030.
At its peak between 2023 and 2026.
To serve
Best decant before serving in a large Burgundy-wine glass.
Trial analysis
Nice golden colour. Mediterranean spices, flowers and citrus on the nose, with a hint of wood, very well integrated.
Powerful and long on the palate, a touch of citrus again in the finish. Delicious!
