History Acústic Celler
Albert Jané is the youngest of the Jané brothers, of the Bodega Jané Ventura – one of the top estates in Penedès. Since 2005, Gerard has been running the family winery on his own, for Albert wanted to create his own estate. This dream came true in Montsant.
It all started in 2004, with a few blocks of vines around Capçanes en Marça. Only old vines, Grenache and Samso (a local version of Carignan). Albert made his first own wine in a garage, at Els Guiamets. Its name: Acústic. Unplugged. For Albert wants to produce wines which are true to the grapes and the vineyard, acoustic wines obtained naturally, without any amplifying.
In his own words: “99% of the quality of a wine comes from the vine”. In the winery, Albert only checks that everything is OK, but never ‘manipulates’ the wine. Meanwhile, the small project has grown; Albert moved from the tiny garage in Els Guiamets, to set up his cellar in an old textile workshop in Marça - the next village.
And little Acùstic has now two “brothers”, Braó and Auditori. The three of them are getting better with each vintage. Since 2008, Acústic is also made in white, in very small quantities.
Albert Jané is now recognised as one of the most gifted winemakers in Montsant and his top wines are amongst Spain’s very best. Acústic Celler means authentic wines of character, works of art made in accordance with tradition.
