Terroir Victoria Ordóñez
For the red cuvée Camarolos, two parcels are used: -Cortijo de la Fresneda (Alt. 850m, in the Sierra de Camarolos, North-East of Malaga city). A terroir rich in limestone with fossils from the Jurassic era. These soils are very poor in organic elements, and the yields do not exceed 10 hl/ha. -El Lagar de Vadillo (3 hectares of old vines at 900 m above sea level, at the Cerro del Moro). Some PX is also planted here. the slopes here are very sheer. For the PX wines, mainly 2 parcels in the Pagos Tardíos/Montes de Málaga. -Santo Pitar: alt. 1000 m, 0.59 ha, bush vines planted in 1970. -Lagar de Rovira: more than 1000 m, 3.36 ha, planted in 1902. Slopes between 46 and 76%, so worked in the traditional way. Re soils, mainly clay-based slate 600 to 500 million years old. But also a littel part o grauvaca, a sandy rock dating back to de 350- 400 millions years. One can also find some eroded quarz. All in all, acidic and very poor soils (0.73% organic elements!). For the Muscat, two parcels on white quartz soils in Fuente Blas, in the Alta Axarquía, planted in 1932.
