Vinification
Half of this Albariño cuvée was aged in stainless steel and half in old vats, then the whole went to stainless steel tanks for 3 more years till the bottling on 2017.

There is a 2019 Leirana M. Luisa Lazaro, a wine that was only produced in 2005 and 2013 before. They found some wines they liked in 2019, wines with vibrant acidity, deep flavors and a very stony mouthfeel, austere and mineral. This is quite different from previous vintages. It matured in oak foudre and stainless steel, 50% each, for one year. It will be produced in 2020 too, and from there on, I believe they are going to age it in oak foudre, one year in stainless steel and one year in concrete (in fact, concrete foudres!). This 2019 should be released in 2023 or so (and the 2020 is still unbottled); they are going to keep the bottles. The wine should age nicely. 2,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2021. This is a joint effort with Raúl Pérez.

Wine estate

This is one of the smallest estates in Rias Baixas, but well known from the connoisseurs.
Since 2005, the current generation, with Rodri at the helm, has been making super whites but also great reds with a typical Atlantic and Galician accent.
Organic cultivation and vinification, minimal intervention. Definitely not wines for beginners.

Description

This is one of the historic domains of the Ribeiro region. Located in the Valle de Avia in the beautiful green interior of Galicia. Arsenio Paz was the founder and inspirer of the estate since 1977. In 2022, José Pariente decided to take over this small boutique winery as Arsenio had no successor. This is a small 6ha estate with a good 20,000 bottles of production. José Pariente's main aim is to continue Arsenio's legacy with respect for the region and terroir.
