This white grape is mainly known for being the basic grape of the Sherry wine. Outside of the Cádiz province, it is better known as Jerez Fino.
Its high yield has made it popular all over Spain, especially in Galicia.

Traditionally, the word 'amontillado' refers here to the colour of the wines produced in Montilla, near Cordoba (the cradle of the oxidative PX). This wine begins its ageing under the 'flor" (a veil of yeasts) then finishes it in the oxidative mode. Hence its distinctive color And this is undoubtedly a traditional Amontillado.

The Cobrana cuvée does not come from Valtuille, like the other wines of the estate, but from 6 parcels around the village of Cobrana, at some 700 metres above sea level. It is a field blend, with some 25% of white grapes - red and white grapes are pressed together. The soils are not sandy like in Valtuille, but made of slate and clay. Whereas the Valtuille wines show a distinctive Rhône-profile, the Cobrana is more similar to a Burgundy wine.

The Elixir cuvée is the perfect symbiosis between two terroirs: the poor sandy soils of Chipiona and the limestones of Sanlucar. This is a quite aromatic wine, but also full of complexity and very long on the palate.
Palomino
Fino is the aperitif sherry par excellence. It has some of the character of Manzanilla, due to the estate's position along the banks of the Guadelete. For geographical reasons, however, the term Manzanilla cannot be used.
Tempranillo (80%), Graciano (12%), Garnacha (5%), Palomino (3%)
Located in the small village of Baños de Ebro, 520 m above sea level, on sandy soils, La Condenada is one of the most spectacular vine in the whole Rioja region. This vine dating from the 1920's is mainly planted with Tempranillo, but it has other - local -companions. It owes its name ("condemned") to the fact that it was nearly abandoned before the Artuke brothers saved it. Two years of effort were needed to get it back into shape, and the first crop came in the 3rd. And what a crop! No doubt this is Rioja at its best.
Tempranillo (85%), Garnacha (10%), Palomino, Viura
This "village wine" (the village in question being Labastida, in Rioja Alavesa) is a blend of four different parcels lying at some 500 metres above sea level.
Mencia (91%), Palomino (7%), Alicante Bouchet (2%)
One of Palacios' greatest crus. The vineyard has an impressive location on a sheer slope of slate.

This unique project was born on the occasion of La Buena Vida's 25th anniversary, in collaboration with Abel and Maite. The grapes come from some 2 hectares in San Vincente de la Sonsierra, mainly Tempranillo with some white grapes and Graciano round the corners. All these vines were planted between 1967 and 1969, except a little part of the Tempranillo (in 1978). The parcel lies between 540 and 560 metres above sea-level, very close to the famous Bardallo cru. the soils are clay and limestone, with some silty-loamish areas. The parcel's name comes from the 116 tenth-century tombs scattered around the vineyard. This is one of Abel's best and most beautiful vineyards, so exactly what we needed to produce a wine worthy of our 25th anniversary!

Lousas is the workhorse of Envínate in Galicia. Their "village wine". Besides their top volcanic wines in Tenerife, they also have beautiful vineyards in Ribeira Sacra, located between 400 and 600 m altitude. The Lousas is the Spanish alternative to village wines from Burgundy, which today often cost many times as much as this Spaniard. All vineyards are in biodynamics.
The Lumière cuvée is made with the grapes of the estate’s best terroirs (La Platera, in Pago de Miraflores) and the oldest Palomino vines (60 years old). Here can one really get to feel all the complexity and minerality of Palomino. How come we had to wait for so long before we realised that this grape which produces magnificent sherry can also offer white, non-fortified wines with such a nice saltiness?

The cuvée was the first to be produced by Verónica in El Bierzo, in 2010. It comes from two parcels (El Couso and La Rata) located in Valtuille de Abajo, on poor sandy soils with quartz debris. The vines are 80 years old. This blend made from the best terroirs of Valtuille can bear the "vino de Pueblo" mention. This was has not a big extract, but it is typical of the Mencía grape.

One of the most amazing aspects of this location is the fact that the soils are chalky (limestone). In addition to that it is one of the coolest parts of the Swartland region, located a mere 2km from the Atlantic Ocean, but it is also a very dry area with an average rainfall of around 300mm per year. This location is home to some of the most intense south-easterly winds and the old vines look almost abused after having been battered by winds and blowing sand for years and years.

Early reservation. Wine will arrive between October and November 2025. The name means The Footpath in Dutch, and comes from the name of Dirk Brand’s wheat and rooibos tea farm, where the rustic block of old vines is tucked away. This is surely the most isolated old vineyard in the country, presumably originally planted to supply the farmer and his neighbours. Its 1.4 hectares host varieties established in the Cape since the early days of European settlement, with most of the planting done between 1887 – 1928, and all of the vines grow on their own roots . The vineyard’s survival without irrigation is also extraordinary in this hot valley in the north of the huge Swartland region, near the village of Aurora and Elands Bay on the coast. Its precise location has allowed it to survive, with an underground river flowing beneath it from the mountains
