La Buena Vida - Pioneer in Spanish Wine
Wim Vanleuven from La Buena Vida in Mol has believed in the strength of Spanish top wines for 30 years. That seems logical now, but in the early 90s, he had to fight against proverbial windmills.
Back then, in the Low Countries, you could only find mediocre Spanish table wine or aged Rioja.
As a young lawyer in Barcelona, Wim traveled from cellar to cellar in search of quality. His lack of a business plan was offset by boldness, naivety, and a small allowance from his mother.
This uncompromising focus on top wines is something that still defines La Buena Vida today. Just like the unique combination of quality producers from classic regions like Ribera del Duero and Priorat, or "newcomers" from the Canary Islands, Bierzo, or the snowy Sierra de Gredos.
